With Halloween creeping up, it’s officially time to stir up something mysterious, moody, and just a little magical. It’s time for…the Witch’s Whimsy Cocktail!
This isn’t just another themed drink in costume. It’s the kind of cocktail that turns heads, tastes delicious, and adds a playful sense of drama to your Halloween festivities.
And like most of my favorites, it’s surprisingly easy to whip up at home, because I’m all about making your autumn entertaining simple.
For the base, I kept things classic with vodka. Its clean, neutral flavor is perfect here because it lets the other ingredients take the spotlight while still delivering that kick you want in a party-ready cocktail.
Since the recipe leans heavily into citrus, I brought in Grand Marnier to deepen those flavors.
The orange liqueur adds a bittersweet richness that softens the sharpness of the lemon and lime and gives the drink a little extra polish.
But the real twist comes from the lychee simple syrup. If you’ve never worked with lychee before, think of it as somewhere between a juicy grape and a delicate floral note. It adds a layer of sweetness that feels a little unexpected and entirely welcome.
Step 1: In a cocktail shaker, combine ingredients (except garnish) and shake the mixture with ice until chilled.
Step 2: Strain into glass.
Step 3: Garnish with lychee and liquorice “eyeball”.
Once everything’s shaken over ice and poured into a chilled coupe glass, it’s time to play with presentation. For my garnish, I went full Halloween with a homemade “eyeball.”
