Where I live in Seattle, a white Christmas is a rare treat—maybe once every five years if we’re lucky. But snow or no snow, the holiday magic doesn’t have to wait on the weather.
That’s exactly why I created the White Christmas Martini—a sweet, shimmering cocktail that lets you sip the season’s sparkle no matter what’s happening outside your window.
This drink is pure holiday glamour in a glass. It’s rich, creamy, and festive, with that just-right balance of vanilla and white chocolate that makes it feel both elegant and indulgent. If dessert and cocktail hour had a stylish winter baby, this would be it.
At the heart of the recipe is vanilla vodka, which brings that warm, sweet base note without being too heavy.
From there, a splash of white chocolate liqueur adds richness and a silky texture, while crème de cacao brings everything together with just a whisper of cocoa. The result is a cocktail that’s light in color but full of holiday spirit—like a sugar cookie, a snowflake, and a martini had a very festive night out.
To dress it up, I always rim the glass with sparkling white sugar. It catches the light beautifully and adds a subtle crunch with each sip. It’s one of those little touches that makes the drink feel extra, even if you’re sipping in fuzzy slippers instead of heels.
I originally made this cocktail for a holiday get-together with friends who, like me, were missing that snowy holiday postcard feel.
We may not have had flurries, but with a few of these in hand, the mood was undeniably merry—and a little bit sparkly.
Step 1: Make a paste out of powdered sugar and water. Rim a martini glass with the paste and dip in coarse sugar, then set aside.
Step 2: Add all ingredients into a shaker topped with ice. Shake until chilled.
Step 3: Pour mixture into rimmed martini glass.
Whether you’re hosting a full-blown holiday bash or just mixing something special to enjoy while wrapping gifts, the White Christmas Martini is a showstopper.
It’s sweet, silky, and undeniably festive—and let’s be honest, it looks absolutely stunning on a holiday tablescape.
So grab your shaker, turn up the carols, and toast to the season with something as magical as a white Christmas itself—even if the only snow is in your cocktail glass.
