The Bellflower

Diamonds

Are you the garden party type? If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the hunt for the perfect patio cocktail. You know—the kind of drink that pairs well with fresh flowers, warm sunshine, and time spent outdoors. If that sounds like you, look no further! The Bellflower is here, and it’s just in time for your next backyard happy hour. This gin cocktail gets its gorgeous color from one of my long-time favorites, Empress Gin. Empress is distilled with butterfly pea flower, which is what gives this unique spirit its iconic deep-purple hue.

As gorgeous as it is, trust me when I say that the Bellflower is even more than meets the eye. In addition to being beautiful, Empress is a deliciously smooth and herbaceous gin that is a welcome addition to any cocktail.

Do you like foam on your cocktails? Well, along with Empress Gin this cocktail includes yellow chartreuse, orange bitters, and lemon, all topped with the nice foam of an egg white. Simply beautiful! This combination of bright citrus with hints of floral it create a charming harmony of flavor for your palate to enjoy.

Now I know that egg white in a cocktail isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but the texture this extra ingredient adds is a can’t miss for me. There’s just nothing quite like having some light, airy foam to level up any libation’s flavor profile. Still not for you? Don’t stress! There are plenty of vegan egg white replacements that can help you get the added texture without the use of animal products. Either way you go, I can’t recommend the Bellflower highly enough. This amazing cocktail recipe is, undoubtedly, Queen Bee Approved!
