If you’ve ever wanted to add a touch of bright, juicy sweetness to your cocktails, this strawberry simple syrup is the secret ingredient you’ll want to keep on hand.
Made with just three ingredients, it’s an easy way to bring a pop of fresh fruit flavor into your drinks, and trust me, once you try it, you’ll be looking for excuses to use it.
This syrup starts with fresh strawberries, slowly simmered with sugar and water until the fruit breaks down and the color turns a deep, ruby red. Strain it into a jar, let it cool, and you’ve got a gorgeously vibrant syrup that adds both flavor and visual appeal to any glass.
It’s incredibly versatile. I love adding a splash to a classic margarita or mojito for a twist that feels fun but not fussy. It also plays beautifully with bubbles. Try a drizzle in the bottom of a champagne flute before topping with sparkling wine.
I first used this simple syrup when making the Strawberry Delight cocktail recipe and it’s been a fridge staple ever since. I find myself mixing it into drinks, spooning it over vanilla ice cream, or even adding it to a basic lemonade for something extra.
It keeps for about a week when stored in an airtight container in the fridge, though if your house is anything like mine, it probably won’t last that long.
Ready to make it? Just scroll to the instructions below. All you need are strawberries, sugar, and water.
That’s it. Sweet, simple, and full of flavor.
Step 1: Add sugar, water and strawberries to a saucepan.
Step 2: Bring to a boil, stirring consistently. Reduce heat and cook for 15-20 minutes.
Step 3: Strain and let cool. Store in a jar of your choice.
That’s it! Simple, right?
This syrup should keep for about a month or so in the fridge.
