Shamrock Shooters

What could be better than shaking up some gorgeous and delicious Shamrock Shooters for the upcoming St. Patricks Day festivities? I can’t think of anything! I was in my kitchen this last weekend and was thinking of fun, easy recipes for you to explore for this exciting holiday. I realized one of my favorite recipes I’ve whipped up was the Sugar Cookie Shots and decided to take inspiration from that. So, I headed over to BevMo to pick up a few things and before I knew it the Shamrock Shooters were born!

These Shamrock Shooters are sure to be a hit at your next party, no matter the theme! I mean just look at them, they look like a celebration in a shot glass with a few tasty touches. Before starting on the cocktail itself, I recommend you not only chill your shot glasses first, but rim them too so that they have time to sit in the freezer (after rimming). This way the chocolate holds well against the glass and can be enjoyed easily while you take that first taste. Simply melt some chocolate in a bowl, dip the rim of chilled shooters in the chocolate, and set in the freezer.

This is a rich and creamy cocktail mixture to say the least, but the color is the true star of this recipe. With that said, the first ingredient and probably the most notable will be the creme de menthe. This is what takes this cocktail from your everyday sweet treat to a true party drink. The dominant and unmistakable flavor in crème de menthe is mint. This provides a fresh, cool taste that is both invigorating and distinct. This helps balance out some of those sweeter flavors that are incorporated.

Next is the addition of white chocolate liqueur, which is one of my favorite ingredients to use when making cocktails that are suited for dessert or are generally on the sweeter side. This liqueur is known for its smooth, velvety texture giving this recipe a bit more depth. To compliment and enhance that smooth texture, I also added in some heavy cream that blends perfectly with the white chocolate liqueur whole also adding a thicker consistency.

Keep in mind, the recipe measurements below are for 1 serving so adjust the measurements as suited for your entertaining needs!
