When it comes to cocktails, I have a few favorites that I always come back to. Of all the recipes with whiskey, there is one in particular that always manages to hit the spot, and that’s the Scottish Rose.
This fun whiskey cocktail is made with (you guessed it) whiskey, Chambord, citrus juice, and fresh raspberries. It’s strong but easy to drink, with tart notes of raspberry to keep things lively. Plus, who doesn’t love a colorful cocktail? I know I do! It certainly makes it hard to resist snapping a photo or two.
This recipe is smooth and not overly sweet, so you can still taste the delicious flavor profiles of the whiskey and Chambord. And like all of my recipes, you can always adjust the ratios to your individual preference.
The Scottish Rose is a unique and refreshing twist on the classic whiskey sour, another drink I’ve made many times over the years. I garnished this delicious drink with fresh cranberries and a lime twist on a cocktail skewer. Although garnishing is optional, I personally think it adds to the visual appeal of this cocktail and makes it even more Instagrammable! (You can think of it like a nice accessory to tie your outfit together!)
Step 1: Muddle raspberries in the bottom of a shaker.
Step 2: Add all other ingredients to shaker and top with fresh ice.
Step 3: Shake mixture until well combined and chilled.
Step 4: Strain cocktail mixture into a martini glass.
Garnish with cranberries and a lime twist (optional).
This is easily one of the best whiskey cocktail recipes I have tried. It’s strong, but still easy to sip, and the citrus and fruit notes make it truly refreshing. Plus, it looks gorgeous in a glass. I love making this mix for special occasions, or just when I want to treat myself to something luxurious and classy. If you haven’t tried a Scottish Rose yet, you’re definitely missing out!
Cheers!
