When was the last time you visited a rose garden? If it’s been awhile, I highly recommend getting out to one. There is nothing like time spent outdoors amongst beautiful blooms to fill your senses and stoke your imagination! Living in the Seattle area, I count myself lucky to be surrounded by more than one breathtaking garden and–in true Queen Bee fashion–my last visit to a floral oasis inspired a cocktail. Today present to you, The Rose Garden, an ode to summer’s blossoms that is easy to enjoy any time of year.
The base of the Rose Garden cocktail is none other than the tried and true gin martini with a twist. But like I said before, and although I love a good martini, the Bellevue Botanical Gardens had me in a decidedly floral mood. So I added a touch of sweetness with some simple syrup, and a delightful floral flavor with Bitter Girl Bitters’ Rose Bitters. The result? A slight elevation on an already-treasured classic! Plus, I just know this cocktail recipe will come in handy mid-winter when I find myself longing for a summer afternoon outdoors.
If you haven’t already tried Bitter Girl Bitters, now is the perfect opportunity! Based in Sonoma County, California, each of this brand’s products are made from ingredients produced right in their own garden or from small, local farms. This means that every bottle you add to your home bar collection is chock-full of organic and seasonal ingredients–no matter the time of year! If you’re interested in getting your hands on a bottle of their rose bitters, I encourage you to visit their website to learn more and find the best place to buy.
