Prepare yourself for the ultimate indulgence: the Pumpkin Spice Mudslide! Inspired by the traditional Mudslide, this seasonal dessert cocktail embraces all things pumpkin spice. But did you know the basic Mudslide originated in the Cayman Islands? According to mixology lore, it came about when someone asked for a White Russian and the bar owners didn’t have heavy cream available. Instead, they substituted Irish cream and created what we now call a Mudslide!
Like a standard Mudslide, this Pumpkin Spice Mudslide includes Bailey’s Irish Cream, but the addition of pumpkin pie syrup really takes it to another level. It’s creamy, delicious, and simply perfect for enjoying after dinner.
If you’ve been following my mixology adventures regularly, you probably know that I love a good dessert cocktail recipe. In fact, this site has a few pretty good suggestions in that category (hint, hint).
But what I love about the Pumpkin Spice Mudslide (aside from how great it tastes, of course) is that it’s a breeze to make. Follow my recipe below and you’ll be sipping on this decadent beverage in no time!
Step 1: Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
Step 2: Add ice. Shake well until chilled.
Step 3: Strain into a chilled glass.
Step 4: (Optional) Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with pumpkin pie spice.
These days, it seems like pumpkin spice has made it into nearly everything, and while I’m admittedly a fan, even I have to draw the line somewhere. But trust me, this is one pumpkin spice beverage that will leave you saying, “Yum!” So mix one up, kick back, and enjoy a seasonal beverage that’s sure to please your tastebuds.
