It’s the most wonderful time of the year! If you’re anything like me, your calendar starts filling up around Thanksgiving and the festivities don’t stop until after the first of the year. With that many social gatherings to attend, I know how tough it can be to find fresh, fun, and delicious cocktail recipes for every one. But guess what? You’re in luck because this Queen Bee is here to help. My website, Instagram page–and, well, my whole brain honestly–are full of crowd-pleasing recipes that will keep you and your loved ones happily sipping all season long. And today, we’re mixing up the Not Nog!

As the name suggests, this holiday cocktail is not your classic eggnog. Instead, it is a deliciously creamy substitute well-suited for anyone who isn’t up for a cold glass of the traditional wintertime favorite. Compared to the eggnog we’ve enjoyed for years, the Not Nog cocktail is a bit on the lighter side. Plus, it’s delightfully spiced and a delicious way to enjoy Knucklenoggin’s unique and tasty salted caramel whiskey. Trust me, the combination of ingredients in this cocktail create a Not Nog experience that’s reminiscent of the original for long-term fans, but different enough for those who have never enjoyed the traditional cocktail recipe.

But where does that creaminess come from? It’s all in the RumChata. This stuff delicious! Never had it? It is essentially a boozy version of horchata, made with rum, cream, cinnamon, and vanilla. When paired with salted caramel whiskey you’ve got a sweet and tasty drink that’s perfect for any holiday party cocktail menu. Wondering how I created the perfect caramel garnish? I’ve simply paired one of my favorite salted caramel chocolates with a melted Werther’s Original hard candy. That’s right, I placed parchment paper on a baking sheet, set my oven to 300-degrees, and carefully watched as this long-time candy favorite melted into the perfect circle shape. Let them cool and there you have it!
