If you’re looking for a cocktail that’s both sweet and tart with a subtle bitter undertone, the Marmalade Vodka Twist might just be your new favorite drink. This fruity and refreshing cocktail contains a variety of satisifying flavors, creating a complex and tasteful profile that’s perfect for sipping on the warm summer evening but can still be mixed up no matter the time of year.
The vibrant orange hue of this mixture alone will impress you and your guests when poured into your favorite cocktail glasses. As I’m sure you can tell, this is a cocktail recipe that is centered around citrus so its only right that the color is as bright as the sun. This is a cocktail that I was hesitant about at first, but it came out to be such a delicious and pleasant surprise. It’s a unique recipe to say the least, so definitely save this to your list of cocktails to mix up on the weekends!
When taking that first sip of the Marmalade Vodka Twist, you’ll instantly notice the bright and vibrant aroma of fresh oranges. As you indulge, you’ll be hit with a burst of juicy orange flavor that’s complemented by the sweetness of the peach and orange blossom vodka. For this recipe I grabbed one of my all time favorite flavored vodkas from the Kettle One Botanicals collection. They have a variety of delicious flavors to choose from, but the peach and orange blossom vodka perfectly complimented the existing citrus notes within the recipe.
Now let’s talk about that lovely orange hue. A huge aspect of the color comes from the addition of Campari to the mix. A classic cocktail ingredient that I can’t seem to get enough of, I often use it in cocktails to add complexity and depth of flavor. The Campari’s bitterness provides a lovely contrast to the sweetness of the fruit and creates a well-rounded flavor that I always strive for in cocktail recipes.
Since this cocktail is called a Marmalade Vodka Twist, it’s only right I throw out some details behind the addition of this delicious jam. I’m sure you’ll agree that orange marmalade adds an unexpected element to the drink. The marmalade’s texture gives the cocktail a slightly thicker consistency and a subtle jam-like flavor that’s not too sweet.
I’ve never tried a cocktail recipe quite like this one! There are so many distinct ingredients that are set apart from one another but somehow come together so well.
Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake until chilled.
Step 2: Strain into chilled coupe glass.
The Marmalade Vodka Twist is as stunning as it is tasty thanks to all the ingredients at work within this recipe. While you may find yourself a bit hesitant after reading the recipe card, I can assure you you’ll be just as surprised as I was when trying that first sip. I haven’t had marmalade in ages and never thought to use it in a cocktail, but I’m happy to say that I do not regret it!
Mix this one up the next time you feel like trying something on the creative side – you won’t be disappointed.
