Ghost Story

Diamonds

If you’re in the mood for a cocktail that’s mysterious, elegant, and just the right amount of spooky, The Ghost Story is calling your name.

This ethereal mix of vodka, dry sake, and St. Germain is hauntingly smooth—perfect for sipping around a glowing bonfire while swapping chilling tales under the stars.

I came up with this cocktail last fall while prepping for a seasonal party and looking to shake up something a little unexpected.
I had a bottle of dry sake I wanted to use and was craving something light in body but still spirit-forward—strong enough to warm the bones but easy enough to enjoy over the course of an evening.

The result? A delightfully crisp cocktail that feels delicate and refined, with a whisper of floral sweetness from St. Germain and the clean bite of vodka and sake. It’s subtle. Surprising. And seriously good.

Every time I serve The Ghost Story, I get asked for the recipe—and honestly, I can’t blame them. It’s unique without being too out there, and the ingredients come together in a way that’s both balanced and bold.

The secret to this drink is quality ingredients.

A good dry sake will lend minerality and structure, while a clean vodka keeps things crisp. And if you’re anything like me, St. Germain is already a home bar staple—it adds a soft floral note that rounds everything out beautifully.

Serve it up chilled in a coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist or a sprig of something eerie—think dried lavender or even a smoking sprig of rosemary if you’re going full Halloween mode.
