There’s something undeniably magical about the first snow of the season—that quiet hush, the twinkle of flakes in the air, the way everything seems to slow down for just a moment.
The First Snowfall cocktail was made for that moment.
This winter sipper is creamy, comforting, and lightly spiced—like a warm hug in a glass. Whether you’re curled up by the fireplace, hosting a holiday get-together, or winding down après-ski, this cocktail is a celebration of winter’s cozy side.
At the heart of this cocktail is RumChata, a cream liqueur made with Caribbean rum, real dairy cream, and cinnamon. It’s smooth, sweet, and instantly nostalgic—kind of like horchata meets eggnog, but lighter and silkier.
To that, I add a splash of vanilla vodka, which enhances the sweetness and adds a layer of warmth without overpowering the drink.
The result? A creamy, spiced cocktail that’s easy to sip and even easier to love.
It’s festive without being fussy, and you only need three ingredients to bring it to life. Shake it with ice and serve in a coupe or festive glass, or go full cozy mode and pour it into a mug with a cinnamon stick or dusting of nutmeg on top.
And while this cocktail is dreamy on its own, it pairs beautifully with all your holiday favorites—warm apple pie, gingerbread cookies, or a handful of spiced nuts.
It’s a crowd-pleaser at any winter gathering and makes a lovely alternative to heavier after-dinner drinks.
Step 1: Add all ingredients into a shaker topped with ice. Shake vigorously.
Step 2: Pour the cocktail mixture into a chilled glass.
The First Snowfall isn’t just a cocktail—it’s a vibe. It’s the feeling of being wrapped in a blanket, watching the snow drift down, and letting the season slow you down in the best possible way.
So here’s to the first flurry, the last light of day, and a cocktail that brings all the warmth without ever needing a fireplace.
