For many families, food and drink are essential parts of holiday traditions. Handed down from generation to generation, holiday cocktail recipes are no exception! Whether it’s a closely-guarded family recipe or a new twist on an old favorite, holiday cocktails are a great way to add some cheer to your celebration. But the great thing about this cocktail is that you can make it just about any time of year. It’s excellent for those colder autumn months, or any time you’re in the company of friends and family. After all, a great drink is always a welcome addition to a get-together.
The Family Tradition Cocktail is the perfect drink to add some extra fun to your game nights and after-dinner conversations. It’s sure to please everyone’s taste buds, and let me tell you: this recipe is so easy! All you need is 5 minutes, a can of pears, some apple cider, and vodka.
For this recipe, I chose to create my own pear puree. Super simple and easy to make, all you have to do is take a can of pears in syrup and blend it together until smooth. If you’re storing the puree for later use, be sure to strain the puree before putting it in the fridge. However, if you’re ready to shake up the Family Tradition cocktail, no need to strain, we will strain the cocktail mixture before pouring it into the glass.
Let me show you how to shake up this apple and pear cocktail!
Step 1: Make pear puree. Blend contents of 1 can of pears until smooth.
Step 2: Add the ingredients in a shaker topped with ice. Shake until chilled.
Step 3: Strain into glass.
Step 4: Garnish and enjoy!
The crisp vodka pairs beautifully with both the sweet apple cider and fragrant pear puree. To add some spice to the mix, a dash of cinnamon simple syrup brings it all together. I usually garnish this cocktail with a fresh pear slice, it adds an extra treat to the cocktail and makes for a beautiful presentation.
This cocktail is a great way to keep your family’s traditions alive and start some new ones of your own! So break out the vodka and the apple cider and get mixing!
