Dragonberry Lemonade

Diamonds

The Dragonberry Lemonade is the kind of cocktail that instantly feels like a good idea.

It’s bright. It’s unexpected. And it’s the kind of drink that looks as refreshing as it tastes, especially when served up with a crisp sprig of basil and plenty of ice.

This is what I call a “no-stress stunner.” You build it directly in the glass, stir gently, and let the flavors do the heavy lifting.

It’s quick, low-effort, and still feels refined, making it perfect for spring brunches, casual cocktail hours, or even those weeknight moments when you just want something a little bit extra.

The Dragonberry Lemonade hits that perfect balance of fruity, floral, and fizzy. There’s no muddling or shaking involved. Just layer the ingredients, give it a stir, and top it off with bubbles and a beautiful garnish.

And while the process is simple, the flavor is anything but.

This cocktail is all about contrast and clarity: sweet red berry meets tart citrus, floral elderflower softens sharp yuzu, and fizzy club soda cuts through and lifts the whole profile.

It’s the kind of drink you’ll make once—and then want to serve again and again.

Step 1: Fill all a lowball glass with ice.

Step 2: Pour all ingredients into a the glass except for the club soda.

The inspiration behind this cocktail comes from its standout spirit: Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum. If you’ve never tried this particular flavor, it’s a tropical mash-up of ripe strawberry and exotic dragon fruit.

That red berry base pairs beautifully with yuzu lemonade, which brings a citrus profile that’s more aromatic and floral than traditional lemon. Yuzu has a kind of hybrid brightness—less sour than lime, more fragrant than lemon.

A dash of elderflower liqueur brings just the right amount of botanical elegance. It adds dimension without overpowering, smoothing the citrus edges with its soft floral undertone.

Step 3: Stir gently until chilled and evenly combined.

Step 4: Top off with club soda.

Finally, a splash of club soda gives the cocktail its lift. That fizzy finish makes each sip feel clean, crisp, and refreshing—ideal for spring or summer.

Step 4: Garnish with a fresh slice of lemon, strawberry, and basil leaves.

The garnish does more than just look good; it introduces fresh aromatics that elevate every sip. Basil adds a clean, herbal brightness that complements both the yuzu and elderflower.

The strawberry and lemon slices hint at the flavors inside the glass and finish the presentation with a pop of color.

The Dragonberry Lemonade is the kind of drink that looks elevated but takes almost no time to make. It’s fresh, citrusy, slightly sweet, and incredibly drinkable.

If you’re stocking your bar with flavored rum and citrus mixers this season, this should be one of the first drinks you shake—or stir—into the mix.
