Is there anything better than a cocktail that can double as dessert? And the best part? This one pulls it off in a deliciously balanced way! I don’t typically enjoy my drinks or my desserts too sweet, so I was delighted with how this cocktail recipe turned out. I had so much fun creating and shooting this drink, and members of my team at VMG Studios have fallen in love with it. Chocolate and cherry is an iconic combination that almost anyone can enjoy.
The Chocolate Cherry Martini certainly hits that mark. It’s sweet, but spirit forward and well balanced with a hint of spiced bitterness. Some people may be a little hesitant with the cognac, but it adds a depth of flavor to this cocktail that is undeniable. It’s an ingredient that should not be left out. Even if you think you’re not a cognac person, give it a try before you decide to go without it. The cognac, coupled with the brightness of the maraschino liqueur, keeps the crème de cacao from overpowering the drink with sweetness.
Step 1: Combine all ingredients in a shaker and fill with ice.
Step 2: Shake vigorously until chilled.
Step 3: Strain into your favorite cocktail glass.
Pro tip: Put your glass in the freezer at least 30 minutes before serving to chill. Take it out just before pouring– this ensures that your cocktail will stay at its desired temperature for as long as possible.
Step 4: Garnish with a maraschino cherry and dark chocolate.
How to Make Chocolate Garnish:
Something delicious is bound to happen when you mix chocolate, cherries, & vodka. Enjoy it as your dessert or honestly…enjoy it anytime you like! It’s that good!
