I’m so excited to share this amazing Blueberry Mojito recipe with you! It’s like the classic Mojito we all know and love, but it has an unexpected berry twist that just takes it to another level. Mojitos are known for being crisp and refreshing, so I wanted to add a bit of natural sweetness to the mix.
The mojito is pretty self explanatory, but let’s get right into the details of this lovely concoction.
Like any other Mojito recipe, start by muddling to release the natural oils and flavors of each ingredient directly in a highball glass. Paying homage to the traditional recipe, I muddled limes, mint, and sugar but dropped in a handful of fresh blueberries as well. This way the base flavor and star of this Blueberry Mojito recipe can shine.
Now, it wouldn’t be a Mojito without lime juice and rum, but more specifically white rum. The rum adds a smooth and subtle complexity and acts as the backbone of this recipe. Quick fun fact: white rum is traditionally used in Mojitos as the recipe originates from Cuba and it happens to be a staple spirit in Cuban culture. However, I do have a Dark Rum Mojito recipe if you ever wanna spice things up!
Anyway, I’d say it’s time to finish this recipe off right. Fill your highball glass with fresh ice and top off the Blueberry Mojito with some soda water. After, give it a little stir to make sure all the ingredients combine together.
As I said before, this isn’t a recipe too far off from the original, so I’m going to garnish with some mint as always and pop some fresh blueberries atop for an extra berry touch!
Step 1: Muddle sugar with blueberries and 2-3 sprigs of mint in glass.
Step 2: Pour rum and lime juice directly into the glass with muddled ingredients.
Step 3: Add ice and top the cocktail off with soda water. Stir well to combine.
Step 4: Garnish with fresh mint and blueberries.
This Blueberry Mojito is like a heavenly blend of flavors. It’s refreshing, delightful, and, let’s be honest, it’s pretty too! Whether you’re a long-time Mojito lover or new to the cocktail scene, give this one a try. It’s a recipe that’s made for lounging around, so treat yourself and cheers!
