Blueberry Lavender Sour

Diamonds

When I’m in the kitchen experimenting with different cocktail ingredients, I’ve found that you can never really go wrong with fruit. Blueberries are one of my favorites, so I thought I’d whip up a recipe revolving around this yummy berry. The Blueberry Lavender Sour takes your everyday sour cocktail and elevates it with a fruity touch.

I am in love with how this recipe turned out, so let’s get right into it!

The Blueberry Lavender Sour is delicious for many reasons, but I personally love how the flavors within the mixture compliment one another so well. I, of course, incorporated some fresh blueberries, but rather than grabbing my regular vodka, I opted for blueberry vodka to bring out the sweet, floral notes of the berries. I’ve found that flavored vodka is a great way to enrich the overall taste of cocktails.

Lavender simple syrup seemed like a no-brainer to me since this recipe is already floral in nature. Lavender simple syrup is a great go-to when smoothing out the citrus elements in certain cocktail recipes, especially sours.

I’d say I’m ready to get mixing!

Step 3: Strain the cocktail mixture into a glass. Garnish with blueberries and fresh mint.

There’s nothing like taking a classic, traditional cocktail recipe and adding your own spin to it! Sours have always been some of my favorite cocktails to sip on. I love the crisp, refreshing finish and with a touch of blueberries, you’ve got yourself a well-balanced mixture.
