How many times have you been asked some version of this question:
“What do you do for work?”
A lot, right? While many of us have a canned, elevator pitch-esque response that we can recite without even thinking, I often wonder how our answers—or perhaps even the way we think about our jobs—would change if, instead, we were asked:
“How does your work make you feel?”
As members of the Queen Bee Mixology Social Team, we get to spend our days feeding our creative spirits, actively engaging with a lively online community, and exploring the amazing worlds that our partners create for their customers. We get to collaborate with some of the best brands out there to build truly unique and engaging content, all with a cocktail in hand. But the best part? We get to do it together.
Recently our team went on location at Snoqualmie Falls, a picturesque park not too far from our offices. There, we shot an Instagram Reel—and longer, high-res spec piece—for our friends over at Olympia Vodka. Their team had brought us on as collaborators in the creation of a delicious cocktail which they wanted to highlight some of the Pacific Northwest’s most iconic flavors. And when they said those words, we knew we had to go in search of fresh blackberries.
And fresh blackberries we found! We spent the early morning hours next to the Falls and along the river, capturing footage that both told the Olympia Vodka brand story and showcased our newest cocktail—The Mountain Berry. Quite a day at the office, huh?
If you spent a day with our team, you’d know that if one person is actively operating a camera, another person is likely capturing a behind-the-scenes look at production. When we pile the footage together and add some music, it’s an awesome way to give our audience insight into what we do, who we are, and how it all makes us feel.
